Walk and Stalk Armadillo’s
Me and Lalo were working on the track at Freestone County Raceway and came across a couple of Armadillo’s! So I continued to stalk up on em and grab em! Only for him to shake free shortly after! Haha I slipped my grip!
One hog with my bow, 2 with my Glock 9mm
OK, I went out to do a little spot and stalking on some hogs here at Freestone County Raceway! And I seen some so I approached them. I got about 17 yards or so from them. They were head down eating berries in the waist high grass so they had know idea I was there! I drew a bead on one and smoked em with the Z7 Mathews bow! So I sat and watched all the others running around in the grass. Then proceeded to go take a picture and find my arrow in the tall grass before dark. As I’m taking a picture the others come back to me and my bow is sitting in the seat of my Ranger! So I had my glock 9mm in my pocket (since I was at the ranch by myself) and put a bead on the leading hog and smoked em head on! Then it went broadside and I shot it again. Another smaller hog ran towards me and I smoked it too! I hate to say it I hate shooting my guns at them, cause it always seems to blow them out for a while in that particular area. And I don’t like to ruin my bow hunting! But as anyone who knows me I’m like Jesse James with a pistol so nothing was getting by me. Whats done is done and it was fun! I am kind of bummed because I have a HD gopro camera mount on my bow. But I forgot the appropriate attachment for it! It would of been some cool footage!
My Second Alligator Gar Bowfishing
I went out again this morning with Art, and Chris and shot another one. Man it sure is nice to be able to roll up on em in a creek like this. Doesn’t cost anything to drive less than 5 miles away to hang out next to the creek in the woods! This one didn’t slap me hahaha! You know its funny, Art told me they go bowfishing. I said “man I have been wanting to get a couple of bows for the wife and I so we could go out. But just never got around to it.” So I looked up on Craigslist in Houston and found a lil PSE Kingfisher with a reel, and two arrows. I paid $93 bucks for it, and its mint. The bow cost $120 bare and the reel is $90 so I swooped up a hell of a deal! Best $93 I have spent in a while!
Bowfishing Alligator Gar
This is my first Alligator Gar Bowfishing! Man it was a blast, it sure is addicting! My friend Chris I met through Art was filming with my iphone and he took the pics! Thanks Chris! Look how funny I look when it flips out of my hands and slaps its nose on my chest! Hahahahaha we were laughing so hard!
Houston Supercross
Houston didn’t work out like I expected. I rode the best I could for the preparation going in to these couple of races. A lot of stuff has gone down the past 2 years with personal family life. And its hard to deal with the kind of stuff that we have been through. That’s all behind and were moving forward. You think as an athlete that you still have what you had the day before. And when ever faced with any problems that interfere with your regimen makes it hard to get on track. I’m by far not finished with progressing forward with myself as an athlete, and personal aspirations. I never thought it would be so difficult to manage so many things in life with marriage and kids, (family illness, and death of a loved one) along with your passions and responsibilities. If there is any one I have for motivation, it would be my father. He’s the baddest dude I know. He can run 3 different enterprises, and be everywhere at once and do it day after day. While at the same time having cancer come up in the past 2 years, and having 2 surgery’s. He’s right back at it again like he never missed a beat. If there is anything I could ever do it would be able to follow in his foot steps, if I can follow the length in his stride. Love you dad!
With my wife, family, and friends I wouldn’t be who I am today. Houston still had some good times. And my buddy Fulton made a short appearance to put a smile on our face! I like my wife’s facial expression in the pic with fulton! Ty, Mel, and Dahlstrom are just watching the infamous Fulton. Gotta love em!
Thanks Darkside for Mechanic’n for me!
Dallas Sx 2010
Well Dallas was kind of a weird deal. I rode good for how the track was. The transitions were really squared up, but the track started to develop after a while. After the second practice i did everything on the track except for the very end of a triple step on section. It kept eat’n everybody up so I didn’t do it. But according to the lap times I dropped back in times doing more stuff on the track than in earlier practices. It is what it is, what can you expect for a last ditch effort! It was fun and I’m keeping my head down doing the best I can with what I have in front of me!
Getting back to my roots
View from my spin cycle… Wife asks me “what you riding that for?” said “to get back on track with my life!” it’s all I have done for over half my life damn near. I’m not racing full time anymore but when I do I want to be like I use to be. It was my life style, and having my heart shit come up 2 years ago threw a wrench in my gears. Not to mention balancing that with having a family! Its tough. The only cardio was on the bike, motos, and sprints. If my heart stops tickn doing something I love it’s better than sittn on the couch right! Hahah (it’s not gna stop just might skip a beat…. Or two!) Getn back to the old me!
Daytona Sx 2010
After riding all week, I had the bike dialed in great for Sx. Only to show up and ride Daytona and the track was so rough I couldnt even pin it down a strait-away! I tried 3 different suspension settings and couldn’t get it comfortable. It was a motocross track with supercross jumps. It is what it is. I left Sunday morning and headed back to Texas. I made one shock change-up (for supercross) this week. I will be riding the next 2 weeks before Dallas sx so I will keep things updated on how its going!
Riding at Bubba Stewart’s!
First off I’d like to thank the Stewart’s for letting me come ride at their place before Daytona sx! I drove there arriving Wednesday a lil after noon. I rode for the next three days strait dialing in my bike. We got the bike really comfortable. Only need to make one change to the shock and were dialed! Here’s a vid my wife Cortni Miller filmed for me. Love you baby thanks! And ol Fulton helped me with practice, races, and driving! Thanks bud.
